Extensive training curriculum

A majority of the consulting tools available will be introduced through workshops based on material crafted by leading strategy consulting firms, e.g.: A.T. Kearney and McKinsey & Company. Some of these workshops are held in-house while others are held by external consultants. We cover topics such as:

  • Storyboaring - producing engaging and concise presentations.

  • Project management - managing consultants, clients and deliverables effectively.

  • Issue Tree analysis - breaking down business problems systematically.

  • Hard skills - working with Excel and Powerpoint efficiently.

What you should know

The A.T. Kearney coach will have a two sessions with the team: one before the mid-project presentation and one before the final presentation. However, it is your project and you are responsible for the final advice you present to the client. Remember, you are real consultants working for real clients.
That is up to you. Getting an offer from a top tier firm requires a solid prepartion. Practice case interviews with your peers and prepare your fit interview well! A career at The Young Consultant will definitely give you a head start.
We expect a time commitment of 10 hours per week during the project. This includes the weekly meetings.
No, The Young Consultant is a pro bono organisation. We do not offer salaries, but instead we offer the opportunity to develop skills and learn about the strategy consulting profession while studying at university.
Your project team will consist of consultants from your own city. However, you are encouraged to use our international network to gain insights from other consultants. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to attend the annual International Weekend in April in The Netherlands.
